The Arhtur B. Mumford House was built in the Spring of 1880 by J.D. Johnston. Mr. Mumford owned a grocery on the corner of Spring and Church. Interestingly, Dudley Newton built 52 Division Street which abuts this property in the back and was his own home and so it fair to assume that 41 School with its Distinctive " Newton Roof" was built at least using Newton-provided plans as well. At some point 41 School Street was called the "Mumford Cottage". It was sold "as is". All three of the units have great detail.
